Built for Dogs that Demand More

Giant Dog Gear started with one simple problem: we couldn't find gear strong enough for our dog.

In 2022, we needed a new collar for our dog Darby, a 170 lb Fila Brasileiro (Brazilian Mastiff)and German Shepherd mix rescued from the 2018 Camp Fire in Northern California. When we went looking, the largest collar we could find in every pet store in our town was 24" long. Darby's neck was 27", so we made our own collar and designed a sturdy leash to help walk him.

From One Dog to a Full Line of Gear

What started as a single custom collar and leash quickly turned into something bigger. We realize that many dog owners, especially those with large, strong dogs face the same problem: most collars and leashes simply aren't built to handle real world use. Whether it's pulling, lunging, or just daily wear, standard gear often falls short.

So we began designing and making gear that could hold up for dogs of all sizes.

Today we offer collars and leashes for dogs ranging from giant breeds to small dogs with big personalities, all built for strength, control, and durability

Big or Small, Strength Matters

While we're best known for our gear designed for large dogs, we also created our Tiny Giant line built for smaller dogs with the same focus on strength and durability. Because great gear shouldn't depend on size.

Handmade in Oregon

All of our products are made in central Oregon, where we test them the same way our customers use them out on trails, near rivers, and in everyday life with our own dog. Darby is still the center of it all, and everything we created is inspired by the same goal we started with gear you can trust.
